This print was created for a dear friend of mine who cares passionately about making room for everyone. She is an advocate for affordable housing and willing to put it right where it matters--in her own backyard.
I hand carved the image of a dandelion puff blowing away, which symbolizes the beautiful, but unwanted, things of the world that we sometimes wish we didn't have in our backyard. Let's all try to say yes to those things (and those people) when we can.
This print was created with antique wood and metal type, a hand-carved linocut, and a lot of love. It was hand-inked and printed on an antique printing press named Augustine who began his working life in 1913.
A portion of the proceeds for each sale of this print will go to a nonprofit organization working for more equitable housing.
