This is a pair of prints inspired by the Ents' battle against Saruman and the forces of Isengard in JRR Tolkien's The Two Towers. The Ents sing of bringing down the stone walls of Isengard, and of going to war to tear down the unnatural forces that are threatening them and the trees they love.
The quote is letterpress printed on my Golding Pearl press from 1892. All of the type is hand set, letter by letter, and manually spaced and kerned.
The accompanying illustration is an original illustration by me, which I first drew, then carved in a linoleum blocked. Called "The Triumph of the Trees," it shows a tree's roots slowly breaking a stone into pieces.
Both of these prints are 8x10" and can easily be put straight into a standard frame. This was a limited run, and only two sets are available.
"The Triumph of the Trees" illustration is also available separately.
